Life session

My answer to question by James Clear

This is from James Clear’s newsletter. This is one of the things that I look forward to for the week. It comes every Thursday as ‘3-2-1 Thursday’ where he puts 3 ideas, 2 quotes and 1 question. This week’s question was, in his own writing :

“Today’s question is a two-parter:

When I’m living a good day, what am I spending my time on?

Do the sources of information I am exposed to each day support that type of lifestyle or distract from it?”

I thought to write these answers for me. These are very interesting questions.

Q1: When I’m living a good day, what am I spending my time on?

Answer:

I spend my time on a good day on research work and following a discipline routine. To elaborate a little, by research I mean research related work – it can be making PPT or poster for a presentation, making a figure, making some progress in work, giving full attention to work.  Then after the day, if I am not too tired, I like to keep myself busy by doing sports or something.

On a good day, I like to wake up early and follow my daily routine – meditation, writing in the morning, reaching office on time, be productive, maybe do little sports, and sleep on time. As long as I am occupied with something whether it is work or sports, that is a good day to me. Also, if I didn’t have any fight with my partner ;). A day inside home doing nothing is very boring for me.

Q2: Do the sources of information I am exposed to each day support that type of lifestyle or distract from it?

Answer:

That’s a good question. Well, it doesn’t support exactly and always that life-style, but it does to certain extent. Now-a-days, I do not consume any arbitrary stuffs that comes to me. I pick things that I like, such as, stoic videos, inspirational quotes and short videos, financial advises – not on what stocks to buy but how to be systematic and discipline.

Now,  I would say I am less exposed to the information rather I expose myself to information I want.  So, it mostly support the lifestyle.
